Fresh off the release of their new EP, Lie Your Way Out, rock band Telltale is giving fans an inside look at how the songs came together. They’ve teamed up with Outburn Magazine to share an exclusive “Making Of” video, here. Lie Your Way Out is out now via European label Rude Records and features recent singles “Lie Your Way Out,” “COBAIN,” “Slowburn,” “Out Of Control!”. The band shares: “The process behind making and creating Lie Your Way Out was such a familiar yet uncertain place to be. Due to the timing of the creation of these songs and the pandemic things were fragmented a bit. We did some recording for it nearly a year after our first demos and drafts of tracks. During that time gap we experienced a lot of dark times as a band, and individually. As time passed, we found ourselves finding comfort in sharing those darker situations and our uplifting perspectives with others. We wanted these songs to be open and transparent about their subject matter. There's a lot of wrong in the world but there's also a lot we can do to be a part of a better tomorrow.”
Like a John Hughes movie or a thrift store cardigan sweater, the driving rhythm and earnest melody of Telltale is both familiar and reinvigorating in equal measure.
The quartet crafts anthems that immediately connect with the kids who pack clubs and theaters to see newer bands like Neck Deep as well as the older set that cherish early records from Fall Out Boy and Lifetime, but with their own distinctive spin. All over the Richmond, Virginia based band’s catalogue, Telltale spin stories that are as relatable as growing pains.
Telltale have steadily charted their own path through impassioned performances and friendly charm, supporting bands like Broadside, As It Is, Real Friends, Assuming We Survive, and Young Culture, both at home and on the road.

With heavy doses of saccharine sentiment and self-aware camp, these guys are perfecting the recipe. At a rapid pace, Telltale continues to carve a new heart into the solid tree of pop punk. They are fresh champions for the underdog, a group who makes the everyday soundtrack for the uninvited, brokenhearted, and cast aside.
