Sub Focus Releases New Single ‘Off The Ground’
Sub Focus has returned with his new single ‘Off The Ground’, out now. The surprise release features vocals written and performed by rising pop singer Poppy Baskcomb - who has found success on recent hit singles including ‘Temptation’ by Jess Bays - and follows his recent single ‘It’s Time’ feat. Gene Farris. Both singles have received Hottest Record status on BBC Radio 1.
‘Off The Ground’ begins with dreamy, ethereal synths and vocals which build and eventually make way for a drop and a gigantic synth sound, a combination which has helped make the track a fan favourite and highly sought after. Last year, a video of Sub Focus playing the track at his debut Circular Sound live show at Printworks went viral thanks to the huge reaction the song received by the crowd, fans and peers alike.

Sub Focus, real name Nick Douwma, has been at the forefront of electronic music since his early releases shot to the top of the UK’s dance charts in 2005.
He has since seen widespread acclaim and commercial success for his two certified-silver studio albums ‘Sub Focus’ (2009), and ‘Torus’ (2013) - which hit the number 11 spot on the UK Official Albums Chart and included smash hit chart topping singles ‘Tidal Wave’ featuring Alpines (#12), ‘Endorphins’ featuring Alex Clare (#10) and ‘Turn Back Time’ (#10).
Most recently Sub Focus released the Gold selling single ‘Desire’ with Dimension, and ‘Portals’, his 2020 collaborative album with fellow Drum & Bass artist Wilkinson.
Additional collaborations in his career include with UK duo Chase & Status on 2011’s ‘Flashing Lights’, Bloc Party’s Kele Okereke who featured on ‘Turn It Around’, and acclaimed vocalist MNEK on ‘Close’ - both of which taken from Sub Focus’ acclaimed certified Silver album ‘Torus’, released in 2013. Sub Focus also produced Example’s 2010 UK number 3 hit single ‘Kickstarts’.
Famed for his live shows as well as his studio releases - Sub Focus has played numerous sold out headline shows at Brixton Academy, The Roundhouse and most recently London’s Printworks for his acclaimed Circular Sound show - a production which further pushed the boundaries of what is possible in live electronic music.
